He had tried everything in order to be normal. Fortunately his doctor had a solution. A three stage treatment over the course of one day. In the final hours of his treatment day, he happened upon a girl, with a similar affliction. She was a Balloon with the soul of a real woman. Her skin was extremely thin and she was unable to be touched. Stuck in an abusive relationship, she had become a prop to her boyfriend. Then, by chance, she floated into his shop. As they talked, their mutual attraction became overpowering. In a moment of tender affection, Thom reached out and touched the Balloon, with his soft hairy hands. A bright flash emanated from the touch and as the light cleared the balloon become a real woman. Suddenly, as luck would have it, the final alarm for Thom's treatment went off. Now, he had to choose between being normal and this new found love. In the end, Thom made the decision to have the love he so desperately needed.
