Schadenfreude
2009, Color. 11 minutes 30 seconds
A film by Kyle Hunter Welton
Drawn in by the promise of an ultra violent show an unsuspecting voyeur enters an aged movie theatre. Only to discover too late that his perverse desire has lead to his demise as the theatre turns from exhibitor to executioner. Reminiscent of the eerie Twilight Zone in both poignancy and resonance this sci-fi/horror hybrid forces audiences to question their own demands for Schadenfreude-istic satisfaction with a statement that lingers long after the credits have rolled.
